Honors:
All 10th graders will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday the 15th. Good luck! In class, we are going to begin our discussion on the concept of hysteria and the causes of the Salem Witch Trials. This is leading up to us reading The Crucible and watching the film in class.
AP Lit:
On Wednesday, students will take the long-awaited vocabulary quiz for Units 1-4. This will count as a test grade. Students also have the option of re-writing the Hypocrisy Paper. That re-write is also due Wednesday because that is two weeks after I returned the original. Students should be reading Things Fall Apart. We will have a quiz on chapters 1-6 on Monday (we moved this from Friday due to conflicts), and then we will have a quiz on chapters 7-13 on Friday. Students should continue to work on the next phase of their poetry project.
American:
We are reading and discussing Puritan poetry this week in groups. Near the end of the week, we will read selections from the sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" and talk about rhetorical strategies.
