Week of November 10th.....

Honors American Literature:
This week, we are going to finish The Scarlet Letter by having a fishbowl discussion. This allows students to ask questions and share their ideas about the novel. We will also begin working on the assessment task for the unit, an essay that discusses core Puritan values. Students will have two days in the lab to work on the paper. They can continue to work over the weekend. It is due Monday the 17th.  Reminder, we are taking a field trip next week on Thursday the 20th!

AP Literature:
This week, we are going to wrap-up our discussion of Heart of Darkness and Things Fall Apart. We are going to review what we have read and students will begin drafting an essay that is due next week. The essay will be a test grade and requires that they think about the themes we discussed as we read these texts.

Regular American Literature:
We are going to begin discussing and practicing for the Milestone in American Literature. You can learn more about the Milestone at http://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Assessment/Documents/Introducing%20Georgia%20Milestones%20June%202014.pdf

We are going to be reading documents from the Revolutionary Period and answering questions similar to ones they will see on the test. We will also be exploring some important American Themes.
