We will work on a Puritan mini-project this week in the lab. Students are working in groups to investigate certain topics about the Puritans. Students will present their finding next Monday and Tuesday, the 15th and 16th.

Also, the American Dream Essay, which is a test grade, is due Tuesday, September 9th. Students can share, email, or print the essay and bring to class. Essays are due before coming to class or paper copy in class.

On Friday, we will have a reading quiz over Chapters 1-4 of The Scarlet Letter. Students will also turn in their Reading Guide Questions for these chapters at this time as well.

Outside of class, students should still be reading Heart of Darkness closely and working on their Poetry Project (Project #1). Students will continue to have blogs due and reading quizzes on Friday.

This week, we will discuss the concept of hypocrisy and read literature dealing with this concept. Students will then relate this idea to Heart of Darkness through a short response.
